The City of Tega Cay sent out a 2nd notice today about a water and sewage problems. Today’s notice states:
NO SWIMMING ADVISORY
All residents living in the Neptune’s Landing area of Tega Cay that due to a frozen valve at the waste water treatment plant, partially treated wastewater entered Lake Wylie through a drainage ditch. They are issuing a no swimming advisory effective today. The company is collecting water samples from the lake and once the swimming ban has been lifted, the company will notify the residents. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Carolina Water customer service department at (800) 272-1919.
Yesterday (Thursday Dec 16th, 2010) a notice went our for Tega Cay Residents on the Carolina Water Service from Snapper Point to the end of Windjammer Dr that they had to shut off water to all customers . Once the water is back on, all affected customers need to boil their water for the next 24 hours. The water boiling period has expired as of today.
hmm… wonder why both advisories have been removed from the site. I get 404 errors when I follow the links in the emails I received from the city mailing list. Can’t seem to locate either by navigating their site.
well, it does show up in a search (for “advisory” or “swimming”), under the results heading “News Flash”: http://tegacaysc.org/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=20&ARC=32
…but if you start at the home page and click “view all” next to “News & Announcements”, you get to another “News Flash” page with nothing but food drive and NYE party info: http://tegacaysc.org/CivicAlerts.aspx
