Tega Cay Night at Knight’s Castle


Our Annual Tega Cay Night at Knight’s Castle will be held on Saturday, May 12th, when the Knights take on the Buffalo Bison at 7 pm.

Tickets can be purchased at the Beach & Swim Center or online (use promo code tegacay) for a reduced price of $8/ticket.

The youth league team that sells the most tickets will get to take the field with the Knights during their pregame festivities as that night’s Dream Team.

Learn To Water Ski in Tega Cay

The Carolina Show Ski Team and Tega Cay Park & Recreation will host “Learn to Ski Day” May 12th and 19th.

Each day has two sessions 8 am -10 am and 10 am- noon.

This is open to the public for beginner-novice-veteran skill levels, ages 6&up. The Team will provide skis and life jackets needed for this USA Water Ski sanctioned event at Windjammer Park. You may also provide your own life jacket and skis. Sorry, we do not offer wakeboard lessons.

The cost of $15 covers insurance and gas and is limited to 15 skiers per session. This is on a 1st paid basis and is a rain or shine event. CSST will also offer a “show ski boot camp” for anyone interested in joining the Carolina Show Ski Team. We can also provide safety driver training for anyone interested in towing of water sports.

CBCC Blood Drive May 8th 2012

The Community Blood Center of the Carolinas is an independent, locally-managed, non-profit community blood center. We are the primary blood supplier to the region’s patients and hospitals. CBCC’s mission is to be the steward of a community resource; life saving blood. CBCC collects blood from the community to return it to the community at the lowest possible cost, consistent with the highest standards of quality. Blood donation isn’t about disasters, it’s about saving local lives every day. Our local hospitals use over 400 units of blood each day, which is more than the amount used for any major disaster in the U.S.

Tega Cay Pool Opens May 5th 2012

Beach & Swim Center - The pool officially opens on May 5th. The May Pool Calendar is available here, online at the Beach and Swim Center Page and at the facility.

The Beach & Swim Center is owned and operated by the City.  There are a variety of membership packages available to suit everyone’s needs.  The Complex has a 8 lane Junior Olympic size swimming pool along with our wadding pool is open from the first weekend of May until late September offering more hours than any other outdoor swim facility in the area.

Classical Conversations Info Session

Classical Conversations joins experienced home school tutors with families interested in using a Christian, classical model of education. Classical Conversations offers a variety of services including a complete curriculum for students that includes weekly help from a tutor, and activities with other students studying the same material. Junior and senior high school students may participate in a variety of educational opportunities including Mock trial, policy debate, science fairs, and more. Parents may get help with college preparation, AP and SAT testing, and seminars designed to train educators in how to teach using the classical model.

This information session features an experienced tutor from each of our elementary age and our high school age programs.

Dancing with the Stars Fort Mill

On April 28, the Fort Mill School District Athletic Board hosts Dancing With The Stars – Fort Mill, a fundraising event aimed at continuing middle school sports through the 2012-13 school year. Included are six area celebrities and their partners, most from local dance studios. The “Gala” event will be held at the Tega Cay Glennon Center.

6 local celebrity dancers along with their professional dance trainers will performing a dance competition. Proceeds from each dancer donation votes, event sponsor ships, and ticket sales will benefit the Fort Mill Middle School Sports Programs.

Tickets for the event, including dinner, dessert, cocktails and after-the-show celebration, are $100 general admission and $150 for VIP tickets with reserved seating and upfront parking. Tables will be set for 8 people, so get a group together for a fun evening out!

Tega Cay Lions Club Easter Egg Hunt

Join the Tega Cay Lions at Runde Park on Saturday, April 7, at 10 am, for our Annual Easter Egg Hunt. The Easter Egg Hunt is for children ages 10 and under and will begin promptly at 10 am. There may even be an appearance by the Easter Bunny.

If you would like to help the Lions stuff the Easter Eggs with prizes and goodies, come to the lower level of the Glennon Center on Thursday, April 5, from 4:30 pm- 6 pm. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Tega Cay’s ANNUAL SPRING PICK-ME-UP

Spring is right around the corner and with spring brings about our Annual Spring Pick-Me-Up in Tega Cay. 

The Pick-Me-Up kick’s off is on Saturday, March 31, at 9 am .  The Beautification Committee coordinates this fun, city-wide event that coincides with the Great American Clean-Up and Earth Day. All residents are invited to meet at Trailhead Park, on the corner of Tega Cay Dr. and Shoreline Parkway, at 9 am.

Volunteers will receive freebies including gloves and water bottles. After the group photograph, everyone will go to predetermined parks, trails and neighborhoods to pick up trash, prune limbs, spread mulch, rake, pull weeds and other improvements.

 At 12 noon, all the volunteers from the Pick-Me-Up are invited up to Pitcairn Park for a hotdog picnic sponsored by Al Patel/State Farm Insurance Agency. If you, your street, or your group would like to participate, please contact Jen Stalford at jstalford@comporium.net.

Also, all Tega Cay residents are reminded that March 26- March 30 we will be offering to haul away your unwanted items for half price. Please see the list below for items and pricing for that week. You will still need to stop by the Admin Office that week to schedule the pickup of your item(s) and pay the fee before crews will come out and collect it.

  • Brush (over 4″ in diameter)- $37.50/load
  • Brush (more than one load of normal size at address)- $37.50/load
